The Global MBA program is designed for executives who wish to take as little time off work as possible, and who wish to return to corporate employment as soon as possible. The curriculum is the same as a traditional two-year program, but delivered in a compact time frame with fewer holidays.
Participants spend six months each at S P Jain's campuses in Singapore and Dubai. Here they study first-hand the business practices and cultures of Asia and the Middle East, as well Western business culture and international trends.
In addition to the political, social, and economic benefits of studying in these cities, locating the program in influential regional hubs helps participants broaden their horizons and think innovatively and beyond boundaries. Participants learn to appreciate, accept, and adapt to a multinational state of mind. The twin-city model is life-changing, and exclusive to S P Jain.
To be eligible for the program, participants must have a minimum of three years’ work experience. The average is about five. Thus, participants bring to the classroom a wealth of real-world experience, knowledge, perspectives, and talents. Executives applying to the Global MBA program are mature, intelligent, and ambitious. They are prepared to work hard to benefit from a rigorous program, and they are taught to cooperate for their mutual advancement, to respect one another, and to learn from each other. Successful peer interaction is one of the most important sources of learning—as well as a crucial executive skill. With mature participants from diverse backgrounds, the quality of class contribution, peer learning, and team assignments is greatly enhanced. It is an international norm to pursue an MBA only after acquiring practical knowledge in the workplace. S P Jain’s high rankings are in large part due to the quality of students the program attracts.
All schools have a curriculum, but S P Jain’s program is unique. Its focus on leadership helps participants to stand out from among their counterparts in the job market. To this end we have implemented a new program (Passport to Excellence) that hones participants’ decision-making skills by promoting critical thinking, analysis, creativity, and a broad, global mindset.
Additional emphasis on personality development, communication skills, and ethics teaches our students to think and act with clarity and precision, and to motivate others to contribute whole-heartedly.
A leader has many duties, but above all, must consistently make high-quality decisions, often under pressure. Decision-Making is a complex exercise that requires recognizing key factors, gathering information, and analyzing situations and options (including risks and opportunities). This requires more than a thorough knowledge of management tools and techniques. Decision-Making is cross-functional and cross-disciplinary, and must take into account the learning styles, skill sets, and potential contribution of team members, as well as psychological, cultural, and behavioral issues. These skills are all emphasized at S P Jain.
Instructors are the heart of any academic program. Our distinguished multinational faculty comes from a wide range of academic and corporate backgrounds. They are experts in their fields and excellent teachers, as well as scholars and experienced executives. They are knowledgeable, passionate, and experienced. Our faculty is proud to promote a learning environment that is friendly, supportive, and conducive to growth. They create the conditions which bring out the best in our students.
The rigorous coursework ensures that graduates are thoroughly prepared with the knowledge and skills they need to excel as leaders in a dynamic, global workforce. Professors employ a vibrant, interactive style of teaching in classrooms equipped with cutting-edge technology. Course materials include texts, video, web resources, international case studies, as well students’ independent research projects.
In addition to outstanding faculty, S P Jain regularly invites senior executives from top local corporations for guest lectures. These executives give participants the first-hand knowledge of business practices, problems, potential, and culture. These experts are referred to on campus as “Visiting Wisdoms.”
In the second portion of the Global MBA program, participants complete independent research projects within their chosen fields at select companies in Singapore and Dubai. Here, participants work closely with S P Jain faculty and executives from these companies. Their projects enhance knowledge of policies, regulations, and cultural issues governing global corporations and business practice, and enable participants to apply their knowledge in the real world, hone leadership skills, and develop a strong professional network for the future.
Participants choose where they wish to work. S P Jain's multinational Career Services Offices in India (Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore), UAE, China, Singapore, and Australia (operational soon) assist graduates in securing promising careers with top organizations. Graduates have opportunities in commerce, consulting, energy, manufacturing, entrepreneurship, venture capital, sustainable development, human resource management, marketing, logistics and supply management, traditional finance, micro finance, internet technology, health care, media and entertainment, telecommunications, transportation, NGOs, government, and more.
S P Jain is registered as a Higher Education Institution with the Department of Education & Training, New South Wales, Australia. It is the only school of Indian origin to receive this international accreditation. At the end of the program, graduates receive a degree from the S P Jain School of Global Management, Australia. This enhances the international acceptance of the degree for further studies and towards an international career.
