Aptitude Tests

It is rare for us to admit participants with a GMAT less than 650, a CAT less than the 80th percentile, or SPJAT less than the 75th percentile. However, we consider the overall profile of the participant including past academic records, relevant work experience, extracurricular activities, achievements, and so forth.
You must re-take the exam as we accept CAT results declared in January 2011 and January 2012, GMAT scores for tests undertaken in the year 2011 and up to August 31, 2012, and S P Jain Aptitude Test scores for tests undertaken from July 2011 onwards.
As the S P Jain aptitude test is an internal exam, and one of several criteria used to evaluate participants for admission into the Global MBA program, we do not declare participant marks. Participants are informed via email as to whether their score meets S P Jain's requirements.
If you have already taken the test, you need to fill in your scores on the application form where indicated. If you are yet to take the test, while registering for the GMAT you may indicate that you require your GMAT score to be sent directly to us. Our institution code is CL8-BV-59.

The test paper consists of about 40 to 45 questions. The format of the test may change from time to time.
The aptitude test is paper-based.

Yes, there is negative marking. Different questions may have different scales of negative marking, and this is taken into account while calculating participants' scores.
The aptitude test is normally conducted in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Dubai, and Singapore (subject to change). For the December 2012 intake, S P Jain's aptitude test will be held in May, June, July and August 2012 (tentative). Full details will be posted on our website closer to the test dates.
